Wynn Al Marjan Island: Work begins on second ultra-luxury development

The stunning luxury waterfront destination of Al Marjan Island is scheduled to open in 2029 – as Ras Al Khaimah accelerates its efforts to become a global tourist destination.

Ground has officially been broken on a landmark project that is set to be one of the jewel’s in the Ras Al Khaimah tourism industry.

Construction of Janu Al Marjan Island has commenced.

The project is being co-driven by Marjan, one of RAK’s leading master developers and Wynn Resorts.

It is one of the most anticipated hospitality and branded residential developments in the UAE.

Janu, which means ‘soul’ in Sanskrit, aims to deliver its philosophy of meaningful connection, wellbeing and vibrant social experiences to Ras Al Khaimah for the very first time.

It has been designed by internationally acclaimed SCDA Architects, and the development will blend a luxury hotel, branded residences and wellness-led experiences within a vibrant waterfront destination on Al Marjan Island.

Arch. Abdulla Al Abdouli, Group Chief Executive Officer of Marjan, said that breaking ground on Janu Al Marjan Island marks an important milestone in their long-term vision for Al Marjan Island as a globally recognised waterfront destination.

Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, added that the groundbreaking Janu Al Marjan Island project marks a significant milestone as they bring the Janu vision to life in Ras Al Khaimah.

Ras Al Khaimah is aiming to become a leading tourist destination for international visitors.

Despite the regional uncertainty, tourism across the emirate in the first-half of 2026 has boomed.

670,000 visitors descended on RAK during the first six months of the year.
