Abu Dhabi reveals $30bn Saadiyat Marina project for 58,000 residents
The new Saadiyat Marina will have a capacity for 350 luxury yachts in a move to solidify the UAE’s standing as a global destination in leisure tourism.
Abu Dhabi has launched a mega new development worth $30bn that will see the Saadiyat Marina District be renamed Saadiyat Marina.
Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the launch of the seismic project that spans 6.4 million square metres.
The new Saadiyat Marina has the capacity of up to 350 berths for sailing boats and luxury yachts.
The project is designed to further strengthen Abu Dhabi’s status as leading player in leisure tourism globally.
In addition to this, the landmark development is seen as way to fuse national maritime heritage with modernity.
Sheikh Khaled was shown the master plan of Saadiyat Marina project, which will be home to recreational facilities such as public parks, marinas for boats and yachts, a seaside promenade, and walking and cycling paths.
Sheikh Khaled highlighted how the integrated infrastructure significantly enhances the global competitiveness of the UAE.
He described Saadiyat Marina as an exceptional development model that combines quality of life, economic competitiveness and sustainability for present and future generations.
H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Aldar, expressed his hopes the development would attract ‘elite investors’.
“Saadiyat Marina marks the start of the final phase of the Saadiyat Island Master Plan, marking the beginning of the most ambitious chapter in the island’s development.
“Abu Dhabi continues to consolidate its position among the most attractive destinations for long-term capital, with its long-term vision, continuous economic activity and quality of life that continues to attract elite investors and residents from around the world.”
Groundbreaking Project
The new Saadiyat Marina destination will be home to more than 58,000 people in private mansions, luxury villas, waterfront apartments and world-class branded residences, as well as a 22.5-metre-high hillside community offering standalone villas with views of the landscape.
The project will be connected to um Yafina Island and Al Reem Island through a new integrated network of roads and tunnels, enhancing infrastructure efficiency and reducing the time to reach the heart of Abu Dhabi.
The project will also include an underground station for Etihad high-speed trains, which will support the connection between Abu Dhabi and the various emirates of the country, enhance economic and social integration, and keep pace with the country’s goals of developing an advanced and sustainable national transport system.
The project will be connected by a modern bridge connecting it to a new island being developed by Aldar off the coast of Saadiyat, in a move that will expand the destination and consolidate its urban integration across the emirate.
The first residential units in Saadiyat Marina will begin sales in the second half of 2026.
